Peace-Promoting Activities
The Jesuit Centre for Peace and Reconciliation at Jeevan Sangham, Bodhgaya is very active in conducting many Peace-promoting activities.
One such activity is Training the Government School Students in two Panchayats of Bodhgaya Block. We have been given permission from the State Education Department, Patna, Bihar to train the students of 15 Government Schools in Ilra and Shekwara Panchayats of Bodhgaya Block of Gaya District. Our target is to train about 2000 students in these 15 schools. Now Meditation has become a regular routine in these 15 schools.
Competitions Among Youth
We also conduct various Competitions among youth to promote Multi-religious Wisdom, Leadership, Talents Capacities among the Youth. Various types of Competitions like Quiz Competition, Speech Competition, Drama Competition and Essay Competitions are held on Religious themes so that the Youth come to know the Wisdom and Greatness of all the religions in India.
Inter-Religious Celebrations
We also organize Inter-religious celebrations of various feasts of India among Government School students. This is to promote among the students knowledge about all the religions in India so that they can celebrate all the religious feasts in India with happiness, friendship and harmony in their own locality and neighborhood and thus they can promote National Unity in our country.
Peace Education Workshop (04/10/2023)
By the kind permission of Department of Education, State of Bihar, Patna today we conducted a Peace Education Workshop for the Teachers of 13 Government Schools in Bodhgaya Block. We express heartfelt THANKS to all the officials of the Department of Education, State of Bihar, Patna for their kind permission and cooperation..
Inter-Religious Celebration (15/06/2024)
Today (15/06/2024) we organised an Inter-religious Celebration of Buddha Jayanti at Shekhwara Panchayat, Bodhgaya Block. Around 150 people enjoyed the Speech Competition, Dances, Skits and Songs performed by the Youth. Indeed it was an event that promoted Youth Leadership and Inter-religious Harmony.
